Using the Lighthouse solution for rate shopping

RMS customers who also use the Lighthouse solution for rate shopping can incorporate this into the system for analysis, decisions and use in the strategy builder. The below steps will outline the mapping process with Lighthouse:

Hotel mapping - Property matching issues.

Room mapping - Room type matching issues.

Resolve hotel mapping alerts

The below will outline how to fix hotel mapping issues when the system can't match properties in your competitive set:

  1. Click the bell icon in the upper right of the screen.

  2. Click Hotel mapping.

  3. Choose one of the following actions:

    • Click the red X to remove the alert.

    • Click the eye icon to view the alert details.

    • Click the arrow to map the hotel.

  4. Select the hotel from the dropdown menu.

  5. Click Submit to save.

Resolve room mapping alerts

The below will outline how to fix room type mapping issues when the system can't match room categories in your competitive set:

  1. Go to the bell icon in the upper right of the screen.

  2. Click Room mapping.

  3. Choose one of the following actions:

    • Click the red X to remove the alert.

    • Click the eye icon to view the alert details.

    • Click the arrow to map the room

  4. Select the room from the dropdown menu.

  5. Click Submit to save.

As rooms are being mapped, alerts will be cleared from the general panel. You can also map pending rooms and hotels in the hotel settings menu.

  • Active Lighthouse Rate Shopper integration.

  • Access to mapping configuration.

  • Understanding of your competitive set.

  • Knowledge of your property's room types.


Troubleshooting

Below outlines the top troubleshooting issues:

Mapping alerts keep appearing?

Ensure you're selecting the correct hotel or room type from the dropdown menu and clicking Submit to save the mapping.

Can't find correct hotel in dropdown?

Verify that the competitive hotel is properly configured in your system settings. Contact support if hotels are missing from the available options.

Room mapping not working?

Check that your room types are properly configured and that the competitive property has similar room categories available for mapping.

What happens if I remove an alert instead of mapping it?

Removing an alert dismisses the notification but doesn't resolve the underlying mapping issue. You won't receive competitive data for unmapped hotels or room types.

Do I need to map every room type?

Map the room types that are most important for your competitive analysis and pricing strategy. Focus on your primary room categories first.

How often do mapping alerts appear?

Alerts appear when new hotels or room types are detected in your competitive set that haven't been mapped yet.

Can I change mappings after they're set?

Yes, you can access the hotel settings menu to review and modify existing mappings as needed.
