The below will outline the enhancements released in February 2024 and the benefits of these new features.


Prerequisites

In order to access the enhancements you will need to have the follow steps in place:

  1. Active RMS account.

  2. Access to rate shopping features.

  3. Understanding of your property's booking patterns.


Expedia Rate Shopper

The following will outline information regarding the Expedia rate shopper:

We're pleased to introduce the integration of Expedia's rate shopper option with the RMS platform. This enhancement offers all the familiar functionalities you rely on, now powered by Expedia's extensive data and capabilities.

With this and the existing rate shopper integration, hotels can access comprehensive rate shopping tools to enhance their competitive edge in today's market. From analyzing pricing trends to optimizing revenue strategies, this feature equips you with the tools you need to succeed.

Day Use Rooms

The following will outline information regarding day use rooms:

We are introducing a new functionality for day-use bookings, defined as those where the check-in date coincides with the checkout date. If this new setting is enabled these bookings will be counted towards the occupancy but will have the revenue recorded. Therefore, each day use booking will feature a rate with revenue attributed to it, always designated as "Last day". There will also be an indicator on the specific reservation record to understand how the stay and revenue were recorded.

Implementation will be available for SFTP and HTNG Inbound integrations. Please reach out to the SHR team if you would like to learn more or enable this setting.
